“Many studies show the link between playing ultra-violent video games and violent behavior. We have a responsibility to our kids and our communities to protect against the effects of games that depict ultra-violent actions,” Schwarzenegger said in a statement.
You know I was going to write about Wednesday being my birthday. Right up till I read this on MSNBC.com
As many people know I’ve spent many of my last 20 years of my now 27 years on the face of this planet playing video games, many of them violent. What’s so bad about violent video games and kids playing them if the kids are grounded enough to understand fantasy and the difference between that and reality?
I don’t get why people are so quick to blame games for the mistake of the parents? If today’s parents would just get off there ass stop being members of the PTA enrolling their super kids in to many activities and actually start spending some time with them. Maybe just maybe dumb shit like this would stop.
But the changes need to go farther than just changes to the way people raise their kids. The changes need to deeper to a social level. We need to stop looking to blame anything other than where the blame should lye. With the parents who raised the psychopathic little bastards.
Remember if we can hold a car manufacture liable if their car burns down a house. Then we should hold the parents responsible for raising killers and ask them why they fucked up their kids.
